Dr June Bam-Hutchison, Interim Director of the San and Khoi Unit, African Studies was invited and appointed to moderate an African Union and United Nations Panel discussion within the African Diaspora on 'Culture in a Time of Crisis' on 25th March 2021. The Khoi-San Unit (Centre for African Studies), University of Cape Town hosted the "Rethinking Africa: Indigenous Women Re-interpret Southern Africa' Pasts" virtual book announcement on the 26 January 2021. The book is a compilation of essays and poems by indigenous women from southern Africa. See livestream of the event below:
We welcome applications for 25 Community Chest bursaries to complete this course which will be offered online from mid-November 2020.
The course, aimed at youth, will run over a period of 8 weeks with 24 sessions of online instruction and preparation work. The bursary covers the tuition fees and mentorship development support as part of the programme. The course involves a formal weekly continuous assessment. On completion of the course, candidates receive a UCT certificate.
